7 Days Update

Today I completed the 7th day of my 30 Day Peloton Challenge so I wanted to check in and document what's happening weekly. First thing this morning I jumped on the scale and I saw that I'd lost 2 Pounds! I thought I lost a little bit of weight but I didn't want to jinx it.

Challenges

Is riding the bike on a day (Sunday) that you have always reserved for a rest day a Challenge? Then yes there was a challenge. Sundays I usually have family breakfast then we drink coffee and go grocery shopping for the week. Was it a huge hurdle to sneak in a 30-minute ride between breakfast and shopping? A little inconvenience on the way to better things.

The potential challenge I thought was going to pop up hasn't materialized yet. I lift weights 4 days a week in my shed gym. I usually ride the Peloton 4-5 days a week. I thought the extra rides would cause me to be weaker in the shed but that hasn't happened yet. Will it happen 14 days in? We are going to find out!

Diet And Nutrition

My diet for the most part is about 90 percent dialed in. I get my protein from eggs, chicken, steak, pork loin, and salmon. My carbohydrates are from sprouted grain bread, rice, and potatoes. Since I shop for a lot of my food in bulk at Costco I'll be eating the same foods next week. 2 pounds of weight loss is perfect so if it aint broken don't fix it. And that means a little (or a lot) of bacon at weekend breakfast will continue!

Motivation

After the first 7 days, my motivation is high. I feel good and losing a couple of pounds the right way is progress. The process of completing the challenge is going to be a little bit of a grind but the end results are going to be undeniable. Even if I don't lose another pound of weight my cardiovascular health is going to improve by the time I get to the finish line.

Plans For Next Week

Is more of the same a boring plan? For me, consistency is the stabilizing force in my fitness journey. The first 7 days I feel great and am getting great results. I want to "copy and paste" that process I just went through for the 2nd week. 23 more days and I'm hoping they are all boring highly consistent days!
